How To Use A Cashpoint Safely

It is easy to become a victim of credit and debit card fraud at women’s shoes shops as well as at ATM machines without knowing.  Do you recognise what to expect  when using an ATM to see if it has been  has been tampered without being alert to these signs you could become the next target to card fraud and see the loss of your cash removed from your account. We learn people talking about protect your pin, keep it covered when using your card at the ATM machine but we all probably become complacent, at looking at the machine and guess its ok, its not going to occur to me. Well guess what, it can so easily happen to you.

How do you protect your pin? I usually consider who is standing behind me at the cashpoint machine. Is anyone spying my transaction, will they follow me? I have never been suspicious of using the machine and believe it is absolutely reliable to use. Everything seemed alright, I was the only person at the cash point.

There was nothing odd about the cash point which we used on the way to buy our new season’s women’s footwear. I carried out my transaction, but my card was not given back to me.

Oh no, I think the machine has kept my card but what do you do? On the machine there was no telephone/phone number to call for help.   My card has a 24 hour helpline phone number but guess what, I can’t get to it because it is still in the machine.

The card was stuck in the machine but I couldn’t touch it. With this rising ATM scams you are at higher chance of becoming a victim. A camera will have watched the keypad and recorded your pin number.

It is probable that you have been watched and they now know your pin number unless you have hidden it. The scammers are waiting for you to move away from the ATM  so it is unattended whilst you go and get help, but in doning that, you are  at risk of losing your card as they could turn up and pinch it. But no, they are not, they will be retrieving your bank card and going off with it. With your pin number and card these scammers are able to use it at other ATM’s and keep using it until they have reached the daily limit, [or] all the money is removed from the account or the bank cancel it and put a stop on its use.

Make sure you wait at the machine and it is not left unattended. Pull and twist around the area that your card slides into and see if there is anything strange or abnormal.   Does anything move a little or flick off?

This scam works by using an extra cover where you insert your card in and it will have an extra piece of card on to prevent your card from being returned to you.   You may wish to force your card back into the machine so it cannot be pulled out by anyone else and make you time to terminate your card.

The top part may also have an additional magnetic strip on it with a tiny hole to record the movement over the pin pad. This can be where the camera is concealed.

You could report your opinion that the cash point has been tampered with to the police who should be able to offer you advice and assistance.

The best option to avoid all this upset is by being more alert to the cashpoint before using it and if you are in any doubt at all, it may be best to use a different machine.

Conversely, if the debt is more than $7,500 or $10,000, you will discover that the credit card companies are far more altruistic. Therefore, if you do not meet the requirements, don’t waste your time checking out debt settlement.

Secondly, the association of settlement companies and all other regulatory bodies recommend that professional service providers not insist that the individual should stop making repayments. However, most companies would rather have a hands off approach. Only fraudulent companies advise the individual to skip.

Other companies simply go over the benefits and leave the final decision to the customer. As an individual, you have the option of purposefully skipping your repayment. The only thing is that the settlement company will neither advise you for it nor advise you against it.

Understand the risks before you finalize the deal. The last thing you want is to face the tremendous pressure of credit card companies and not even have the settlement company to blame.

Finally, doing your own negotiation with the credit card companies is not impossible. That is right. Never trust any settlement specialist who gives you the advice of not to ever contact your creditors. This is a very dangerous move.

You are not trying to trick your credit card company into going along with the settlement deal, are you? You are simply explaining the pros and cons and pointing out that a bankruptcy is going to be profitable for nobody.
